The Durham Bulls have the best minor league baseball mascot!  Baseball America gave Wool E. Bull the honor!  Of course people attend the games to see baseball, but that is not all. Baseball America decided to focus on the atmosphere that surrounds the minors.  They asked the people around the game–from the broadcasters to front office executives–about the best mascots they’ve seen in this sport.  By the way, promotion teams around the country spend hours thinking of ways to keep fans entertained.

Wool E. Bull does more than just entertain with his go-kart run across the warning track and his ever popular use of the hot dog launcher.  He makes over 250 appearances in the community each year.  No matter what he’s doing, he is always a big hit with the fans.  He displays entertaining charisma and conveys non-stop fun.  One International League broadcaster said, “Every time I’m in Durham, I find myself getting distracted by watching his wizardry at work and have to snap my focus back to the game.”

The Durham Bulls kick off the 2016 season Thursday, April 7, when they open a seven-game homestand against the Charlotte Knights and Gwinnett Braves. Gates open at 5 pm, as prior to first pitch the fans will be treated to a special entrance by our newly-named best minor league baseball masot, Wool E. Bull!  Full roster introductions and a National Anthem performance by the Duke Pitchforks accompanied by a fly-over by the five-plane Bandit Flight Team. The homestand continues on Friday, April 8 at 7:05 p.m. against the

Chicago White Sox’ Triple-A affiliate.  After the game is the year’s first Friday Night Fireworks show.  On Saturday, April 9 the Bulls and Knights square off at 5:05 p.m. in the third game of the series.The finale of the four-game set happens on Sunday, April 10 at 5:05 p.m. Gates will open at 2:30 p.m. that day, as fans are invited to a Meet the Team event, where Bulls players and coaches will be available to sign autographs, take pictures, play games and play catch with children on the field from 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
 
The Bulls welcome the Gwinnett Braves to the DBAP on Monday, April 11 at 7:05 p.m. for the first game of a three-game series, before squaring off again at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12.  The series against the Atlanta Braves’ top affiliate concludes at 11:05 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13.The Durham Bulls have an exciting 2016 Minor League Baseball Season ahead!  View the 2016 home schedule HERE.  You are welcome to stay at Morehead Manor Bed and Breakfast right here in Durham and within walking distance to the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
